Transmission Servicing – Dundalk

A well-maintained transmission system (gearbox) is essential for smooth gear changes, responsive performance, and the long-term health of your vehicle.

At McKeown Auto Services in Dundalk, our professional Transmission Service ensures your gearbox operates efficiently and reliably, whether your vehicle is automatic, manual, or semi-automatic (DSG).

During our Transmission Service, our experienced, skilled technicians drain and refill or flush the gearbox fluid, depending on the manufacturer’s recommendation, using only high-quality fluids that meet or exceed OEM standards.

Please note: our workshop in Dundalk is equipped with a machine which enables us to fully drain the automatic gearbox fluid and replace it entirely. Many garages only partially drain this fluid, which means your gearbox fluid always has some level of contamination.

We also replace the gearbox filter and gasket (where applicable) to keep the system clean and free from debris, and inspect for any leaks, unusual noises, or signs of wear that could lead to expensive issues if left unchecked.

Once complete, we carry out an extensive performance test to make sure gear changes are smooth and the box is operating correctly.

Regular transmission/gearbox servicing at McKeown Auto Services helps to extend a gearbox’s life, improves fuel efficiency, and prevents expensive repairs, keeping your vehicle running smoothly mile after mile.
